Are you looking for original entertainment for your guests? The Flower Bar is a trendy idea that will win you over and also fascinate your guests on your wedding day. The Flower Bar will be the real novelty of weddings in 2023 (and also 2024)! Some were seen last season, the beginning of what will be the trend for upcoming events. As has happened with other fashions, this one too simply reinvented a custom already present at weddings, making it more beautiful, trendy, and practical. What is the Flower Bar The flower bar is a special corner where guests, either on their own or with the help of a florist, use the flowers available at the wedding to create small bouquets or floral accessories; the basic concept is the same as the candy table, only instead of sweets, guests take home beautiful flowers. The classic tradition is that female guests take home the centerpieces or other floral decorations, which would otherwise be thrown away at the end of the evening. But often, the arrangements are large, awkward to move, already wilted from the hot day, and not so appreciated at the end of the day. In this way, instead, the flowers are worked on and what results is a beautiful mini bouquet, decorated and tied with a ribbon, much more pleasant to have at home.

Why choose the Flower Bar Mainly for two reasons: the flowers already present at the wedding are used until the end, avoiding having to throw them away at the end of the day; it gives them a second life in the guests' homes, without wasting materials. As a professional, I strongly insist on reusing all the wedding arrangements, both for budget reasons and for ethical reasons. If possible, it's best to move the arrangements from the church or the ceremony venue and reuse them to make other areas special, such as the tableau, to enrich the sweethearts' table or the cake table. I try to avoid, in fact, specific decorations for these areas if we already have some available to use. A Flower Bar combines beauty with functionality: the possibilities for setting it up are endless but it's also useful for entertainment purposes; it will be the final twist before leaving, in short, much more than just a floral arrangement! When you can do the Flower Bar The perfect moment to organize it is, of course, at the end of the evening, after the cake cutting. At that point you will no longer be in the hall, but will have already moved to another area for the dessert buffet and the start of the party; choose a well-defined spot, coordinating with the floral designer and the hall manager. The Flower Bar will be set up near the favors, or near the place where guests will pass by on their way home at the end of the evening. So, the route they will take will be: come to say goodbye, take the favor, and also take a bouquet of flowers.

How to organize the Flower Bar On a practical level, I recommend having the Flower Bar organized by a florist who will know how to work with and best manage the flowers for the day. In fact, it will be a real show so it is essential to rely on the presence and involvement of a professional. Set up the station so that it immediately attracts the attention of guests, perhaps with a sign that says “Flower Bar”; you will need a table without a tablecloth or a dedicated corner and, provided by the florist, wrapping paper and ribbons or other accessories to give the bouquet the right and most beautiful look. When creating the floral project, you can decide to use “smart” arrangements, designed to be easily worked with at the end of the evening. Flowers that are too small, with stems that are too short, or that suffer a lot from the heat may not be suitable for the final goal. Ask for advice from the professional who will be assisting you and let them know right away about your intention to create a Flower Bar.

How much does the Flower Bar cost? The mistake that some couples make when thinking about the Flower Bar is thinking that, since we are talking about flowers already purchased for the wedding, it can be done for free. In reality, it is an additional service that requires work, presence during the wedding, and the need to not rest at the only time when florists generally regain their energy before dismantling at the end of the party. It has a value, which is also well perceived by the guests at the wedding, and therefore should be recognized. Generally, the cost depends on the number of people who need to stay based on the quantity of flowers and guests; so remember that for these people, you will also need to provide for their presence during lunch or dinner at the staff table. A Flower Bar for a green-inspired wedding We leave you with one last suggestion: the Flower Bar could make even more sense if it were included in a botanical or green-inspired event. Starting from a concept, a common thread, such as a characteristic plant from your area or a particular flower that you will use in all the floral arrangements, you can define the details for the setups.
